Everyone should have their appointment calendar's marked to attend the
Phoenix Sail & Power Turkey Roast. This is a unique annual event that
allows you to enjoy a deep fried turkey in the great outdoors at a lake.
Please plan on joining us.

(2:00 PM)

55" W 111 38' 02"

Photos from 2006 go to:"

Entrance requirements: Tonto National Forest has implemented an advanced
remote entrance fee system. This requires all visitors to the Bartlett Lake
area to purchase an entrance ticket prior to coming to the lake. Entrance
coupons are available at the Forest Service offices, Circle K, Bartlett Lake
Marina (if not out of stock) and I've heard Big 5 Sports. Fee is $6.00 per
vehicle per day plus $4.00 per watercraft per day.

Visit the Tonto National Forest Service website for more information. "

Requirements to join the festivities: RSVP and be there. Remember it is
potluck; bring a special Thanksgiving Day food you would like to share.
BYOB. Ice will be available. Nobody has ever left hungry.

Make it a weekend starting Friday night or a Saturday day trip. RV's can be
parked overnight in the upper paved lot after Oct 31st.

Come join your fellow Phoenix Squadron members for an OUTDOOR DEEP FRIED
Turkey Roast. This is the event of the season. Learn from other members of
the squadron on how to properly practice eating turkey without having to
collapse onto the couch immediately after leaving the table. Our safety
record is still intact, haven't lost a member from overeating yet! Last
year we devoured 35+ lbs of turkey, loads of dressing, potatoes, and desert
with a wonderful group of friends. We will need more assistance this year,
per waistline expansion stress restrictions.

The highlight this year will be the 3rd Invitational Bartlett Lake Trough
Sail Boat Race. Boats, sail material and synthetic wind will be provided. The
invitation will be handed to all present during the race. The last race
which was held at Bartlett also, was a resounding success. The overall
winner may win a drumstick if any are left. All invitations are restricted
to participants present during the event.

Note: Special events are being formulated, such as the Stock boat race
(luck of the draw shape), Super Modified (Stock boat sold to entrants for
thousands of promised IOU's, starting Oct 20th from Bill Johnson) and the
open powerboat category (if interest is evident).

Cell phones do not work at the lake. We will monitor VHF channel 16 and FRS
channel 12 sub-channel 30. Bartlett Lake is northeast of Cave
Creek/Carefree; Rattlesnake Cove is north of the Marina along the shore road
(NF-459). Look for Rattlesnake Cove signs.

RSVP to Bill Johnson (602) 525-6318 or email BILLJ6 at GMAIL.COM

Look forward to an exciting event.
