Subject: Sunday Update
A few more updates on some I have reported on before and a few new ones.
Fairhope
>From Rose Marie Perfect: I have been in touch with Vera Culver who is a
very good friend of the Traczewitzs who have (had) a lovely home on the bay
south of Fairhope--the water came in on their bayside and pushed most of the
furniture to the road side of their house. They had evacuated to Mobile to
a daughter's home and are safe. They had dinner with Vera last night after
a day of cleaning up what they could at their home.
Lake Pontchartrain
I'm Barry French, member of Lake Pontchartrain and New Orleans Squadrons. We
are all ok and currently in Destin, Fla. My youngest son's house is flooded
in New Orleans (Filmore and St. Bernard Ave) but all other family houses
(Covington and Madisonville) and business (Mandeville) are all ok. Only
member I have info on is Jimmy VanCourt (NOPS) whose house is totally
submerged. Please add me posted on any info regarding other members. Hope
all are ok.
Marlene Sobkowich-Everett: I am in Austin with my daughter, youngest
okneisa with me also Ron is with Carol Bell in Covington as John had to
go to Shreveport. We got out of there Thursday morning after they removed
all the trees from the driveway so we could escape/
Mobile
>From Debi Gould: I have contacted many in the squadron and I'm hopping many
more will reply so I know that they are alright. The following is a list of
who may have suffered damage but are still with us. Me (Debi Gould)no damage
to my house or boat (it sat comfortably under her shed at home and I got
power Thurs., Art Stinson's house is still standing at Dauphin Island but
one of the few not sure of damage yet and his home just needs a lot of
cleaning up, Richard and Sylvia White no elec. as of last night, Steve and
Paula Weatherford I found them threw calling their priest(thank's Helen),
Jim and Betty Baskin & Don and Pat Snellenberger are neighbors no elec. as
of last night, Larry and Cendra Lartigue Art talked to, Ed and Helen Berger
no elec. as of last night, Ray and Barbara Mattox OK talked to briefly,
Susan Moulton who just came back from surgery she's doing fine, Anne and Roy
Clark were flooded and their will be no Four Blast this month, the boat hung
on to the cleat unfortunately the dock didn't hang on to the pilings, Cliff
and Pat Jackson damages to the house. Many of these members said the waters
have never gotten so high before and if it had come another inch it would
have come in their house. Some it did.
Singing River
from Priscilla Clark: I Just received a brief phone call from Dot Warner.
She and Stan are safe and currently en route to Mobile. They have extensive
damage to their home, yard, and Stan's shop. Dot stated "regrettably Stan
and I will not be attending the Governing Board meeting in Portland". Have
assured them we have each in our thoughts and prayers, to let us know what
we can do to help them, and we will miss seeing them in Portland.
