FYI. There are continuing rays of sunshine from our friends on the Gulf
coast although your thoughts, prayers, support, and donations continue to be
welcomed and appreciated. For those members in attendance who are not
already aware, please let them know that there is a Hurricane Katrina relief
table near the Ship's Store table area at the Portland GovBd meeting.

Good Afternoon fellow members,
It's been a few days and there has not been much new information. But I am
still asking that any of you who have are reading this and have not
responded to me, and any of you who have news of your fellow members, please
contact me.
New News:
New Orleans:
>From Nolan Haro: just talked to Edith (Cure) tonite and they are all right.
stayed on the boat and then in Walter,S truck when the water came up.
somewhere in la with son john all the kids are fine. they lost house(water
up to roof) and tanks floated off. trucks
and boat ok please let everyone know. don't know how Joeann
Marvin Moate Cdr of NO called me today and said that he has talked to
Charles Chapman, the Kullmans, and a few others. They evacuated and are
safe, but do not know how their homes faired.
Mobile:
>From Debi Gould: Pinky Martin and Harriet are OK. Art went to the Home Port
yesterday and all seems to be well except for the downstairs. The sink is in
tacked but nothing else. The picnic tables are across the creek.
Add a few more strong souls to the list who have weathered the storm and
checked in via E/M or called. Pat&Dick Smith damage but a family
contractors's coming to the rescue and they JUST signed on another house and
it sustained damage too , Terry Smith in the process of cleaning up,
Rob&Angie Gulledge lost their carport a tree decided to park on top of it
and the church Govt. St. UMC minor damage.
I know this is going to be a long road ahead for all of you but remember,
the District and all its members are here to help and support you in any way
we can. If you or someone you know needs housing, please let me know.
There are members who have offered to help in Pensacola, Ft Walton Beach,
Central FL, Michigan, and others.
