The data was lost because the cell phone field became a field stored on the
national database.
Unfortunately, the data was lost because when an import was done, the
records at HQ didn't have any valid cell phone data and therefore your
records were overlaid.
The following procedure will restore your data and make sure that HQ has it.

1. Open the target database and make sure all tags are cleared.
            Menu "File\Clear all tags"
2. Open the most recent backup database that contains the cell phone data.
            Menu "File\Open Backup Database"
3. Clear all tags and then tag every record that contains cell phone data.
In Comm grid click the "CA" button.
Highlight the "Cellphone" column and click the "C2T" button.
4. From the main screen menu select "File \ Copy Tagged Records to Another
DB"
5. From the resulting dialog screen select:
            a. The database to copy to, the primary database.
            b. Copy Options to "Overwrite existing"
            c. Click the "Copy" button
            d. After transfer click the "Close" button
6. Open the primary database
            "File\ Restore Primary"
7. Check that the records were copied and are tagged. They already should
be.
8. From the main screen menu select "Export \ Roster \ Review/Send Current
Changes"
9. Send the cell phone data to HQ. From the Upload grid:
            a. Click the "AT" button to add tagged records.
            b. Upload the data to HQ.
10. Update the database to restore any recent changes in the BDU.

Hi,

No, I did not take out the data. Their are very few cell phone numbers in
the data base. Most squadrons have not put them in. In the case before, he
did not realize that most of the cell phone numbers were ever put in. My
cell number has switched over every time I update my squadron and district
data.

Update

Hi

How did the DB2000 administrators handle the conversion when "Cell
Phone" numbers began to be stored on the national database in lieu of
just being stored on an individuals database? I believe when I
undated to version 9.4.0 from a previous version and downloaded a new
roster file (prior to uploading my database), the download over wrote
my cell phone numbers with null data. Is this a likely scenario? I
do not remember seeing any instructions to first upload the user
database after the new install - but I can't be certain of that.

Please confirm whether I will have to reenter the cell phone numbers
for our squadron members?

Thanks
