Folks,

I learned something today. Boaters on the Chain must have a
Chain-O-Lakes permit. The permits are $60 for the year or $10 for a one
day permit. The Chain-O-Lakes AO has offered to pick up the permits for
our members as long as he is re-imbursed for them. Therefore, it is
essential that we know who is bringing a boat ASAP. I assume that
boaters that keep their boats on the Chain will have the permits. So
far I have 2 boats from Fox Valley Squadron and 2, possibly 3 boats from
DuPage. (Phil & Cor, you are the only ones bringing a boat on a trailer
so far.) Chicago and Chain-O-Lakes Squadrons are handling their own
reservations. PLEASE CONTACT HOWIE MOORE OR ME ASAP AND LET US KNOW IF
YOU ARE GOING TO ATTEND AND IF YOU WILL BRING A BOAT!!! Do not contact
Bill Nicholson. There will be room on some boats for people coming
without one.

I do not know for sure if a one day permit will be sufficient for people
staying overnight. I assume that you will be okay as long as you stay
in the Marina except for Saturday. I will email a schedule as soon as I
have agreement with the Chain-O-Lakes AO.

A few Marinas are offering reduced rates for Squadron members. I have
included below the information that I have so far. I still have a few
marinas to talk to.

Please plan on coming. It will be a fun day.
