[Mail-lists-admin] Mailman Settings

Greetings all,

On the General Options Section of the Mailman Configuration page for all
your mail lists, please set the "Send mail to poster when their posting is
held for approval?" option to NO. This is the option which is fourth up from
the bottom of the first options page.

Our ISP (Verio/NTT) is getting complaints about our generating spurious
mail, because
these messages generate unnecessary spam-like mail. These responses are
nearly always in response to incoming Spam messages. When we switch servers,
and use an updated version of Mailman, I plan to take advantage of the new
feature which allows automatic discard of all messages from non-subscribers.
I trust that you will do so, too. So we will be starting a bit early with a
part of that feature. Until the cut-over, we will still have to discard
those messages manually.
