That's true if we had been adjusting the initiation fee annually. We
haven't. The fee was $10 when I joined back in 1990. I wouldn't be surprised to
hear that we've been holding at $10 since the early 1980's, maybe longer. I just
checked the consumer price index web page: $10 in 1990 = $14.61 today. $10
in 1980 = $23.17 today.
I also looked up what other civic groups (Rotary, Kiwanis, Masons)charge for
initiation and found fees ranging from $15 to $250. $25 doesn't strike me as
way out of line for a one-time fee.
