Dear Dana,
Saw your posting to Ron, and wanted to let you know how extraordinarily
gracious the Atlanta Squadron has been to our ship (SSS Sargasso, Ship 22,
Atlanta Area Council.) We "connected" in early January at the Atlanta Boat
Show. In just one month, youth and adults have been enrolled in classes;
all sorts of assistance for special learning opportunities has been
offered; teachers are scrambling to be sure the advancement requirements
are being met with extra articles, charts, etc. We have two youngsters
with significant learning disabilities who pose special challenges, and
they are sailing (pardon the pun!) through advancement requirements
because of the special care we are all receiving.
Please give the Atlanta folks special credits wherever you can; our
partnership is already a success story!
Gratefully,
Marilyn Washburn
Mate, Ship 22
