EXECUTIVE OFFICER’S REPORT
As we continue our march through a very successful 2005 thus far,
the VBPS is now facing one of the most crucially important phases of our
calendar year. We are now firmly entrenched in the member retention phase of our
great organization. Without the dues that we pay each year, VBPS would not be one
of the finest squadrons in the nation. We have always been very proud of the
renewal rate of our membership in the past and this year must not be any
different. Therefore, if you are reading this message and your dues notice has not
been mailed back to national with your payment, I implore you to please stand
up, go to your desk and write this check now. It will only take a minute and
you’ll feel proud to know that you are helping your Vero Beach Power Squadron “
to be the best that it can be”. We are looking for a 100% renewal rate this
year and every year from now on. Yes, I realize that some of you have found
other interests and objectives in your lives and, unfortunately, cannot be an
active participant anymore but why not consider your power squadron dues as a
donation to a wonderful cause -- one that you believed in at one time. Losing a
member due to non-renewal is one of the worst things that could happen to a
squadron. Think of us as one of your favorite charities and make your payment
today. We are only talking about the cost of one meal at a fine restaurant and we
all go out on the town once in awhile. I have received “E” mails from some
really fine folks who are moving away from Vero and we are sorry to see them go
but this is not a valid reason to drop their membership. Members can support
their organizations from anywhere in the world. If you haven’t paid your dues
yet, please
write that check today! Thanks to all the members who have renewed thus far
and to those who have not, we are grateful for your kind attention to this
passionate plea.
