[Phoenix] Past Commander's Bar-B-Que Reminder

Ahoy all members,
   
  This coming Saturday, March 24, will be the Annual Past Commander's Bar-B-Que to be held at the picnic ramada at Canyon Lake.  Once again and contrary to rumors, there will not be any Past Commanders cooked, braised, broiled, grilled or Bar-B-Qued at this event!  Here the Past Commanders will roll up their sleeves and serve the most wonderful members in the United states Power Squadron! an incredible dinner!
   
  The food will start arriving at 2pm and dinner will be served at 4pm.  We will have a brief general membership meeting starting around 5pm.  The cost for the bar-b-que has been held to the same rates as in previous years - $8 per adult, $4 per child 12 years + and children under 12 are free.  The menu will consist of:
  Beef Brisket
  Chicken
  Beans
  Cole Slaw
  Salad
  Garlic Bread
  Ice cream
  Pies
  Cup cakes
  Coffee, lemonade and water to drink
   
  Canyon Lake does charge an entrance fee per vehicle admitted to the campground/ramada site.  The normal fee is $10 per vehicle, but we have been able to work with the fine folks at Canyon Lake and the fee has been reduced to $8 per car.  PLEASE IDENTIFY yourself as being with the PHOENIX SAIL & POWER SQUADRON for the discount.  There are quite a few members spending the night there on Friday and Saturday, so feel free to come up early and enjoy everyone's company and the lake.
   
  Myself and all of the Past Commanders look forward to seeing as serving you there on Saturday by 4pm.  It is a beautiful drive and our Wizard First Class has assured us that the weather will be PERFECT.  So come and join us there!
