*Weekend freeway restrictions in Phoenix area (Nov. 9-12); Loop 101 work
early Saturday in north Phoenix*

Freeway improvement projects will require limited restrictions along Valley
freeways this weekend (Nov. 9-12).  The Arizona Department of Transportation
(ADOT) also says updated information for fans going to Phoenix International
Raceway this weekend is available starting Friday by calling ADOT's 5-1-1
system and selecting "special event."  The following freeway restrictions
are scheduled this weekend:

   - *Eastbound Loop 101* (Pima Freeway) *closed and westbound Loop 101
   narrowed to one lane between Scottsdale Road and 56th Street* (in
   northeast Phoenix) *from 12:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. Saturday* (Nov. 10) for
   work on the new 64th Street interchange.  Eastbound Loop 101 traffic
   will detour south on 56th Street and east on Bell Road/Frank Lloyd
   Wright Boulevard to reconnect with the Loop 101.


   - *Eastbound Loop 202* (Red Mountain Freeway) *off-ramp and westbound
   on-ramp at Priest Drive closed from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m.
Monday*(Nov. 12) for a City of Phoenix sewer line project.  Drivers
who normally
   use these ramps should plan on using alternate routes, including adjacent
   Loop 202 interchanges.


   - *State Route 347 narrowed to one lane in each direction between
   Cobblestone Farms Drive and Edison Road *in the Maricopa area *from 8
   a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday *(Nov. 10-11) for rubberized
   asphalt paving work.  Drivers are encouraged to give themselves extra travel
   time in the area and to merge safely approaching the work zones.

*Reminder: Fans going to Phoenix International Raceway this weekend are
encouraged to check on recommended travel routes starting Friday by calling
ADOT's Travel Information system at 5-1-1 and selecting "special event."
ADOT is working with the Maricopa County Department of Transportation to
provide traffic information on race days.*
