Go South on 99th Ave to W Lindgren Ave, then take a left. Follow Lindgren
till you see the clubhouse for Union Hills CC on the left. See the Maps

The doors will open at 1730 for a "No Host" cash bar. Dinner will be served
at 1830. The dinner will start with a Ceasar Salad with croutons &
cranberries. The main course will be Pot Roast of Beef Jardinere, Parsley
New Potatoe,- Green Beans Amandine, Rolls & Butter,. Coffee and tea will be
served with dinner. Dessert will be Peppermint Stick Ice Cream Pie with
Chocolate Drizzle.

For those of you who may not have attended a Squadron Change of Watch in
previous years, you'll want to be sure to attend this time. We have a
special program planned that I'm sure you will enjoy. One of our own
members, David Allocco, has obtained a speaker of some note. And, you're
sure say to the person next to you, "Why did I think sailing was such a nice
quiet sport!" Come to the Change of Watch and see what hard sailing can
mean.

What would it be like to race a 40 foot boat that is 8 feet wide and weighs
only 5,000 pounds from Los Angeles to Hawaii? And what if there were only
two people on board? And what if you're competing against 72 other boats
including Roy E. Disney's 90 foot racing machine, Pyewacket? This is the
amazing and amusing story that will be presented at the Phoenix Sail and
Power Squadron's Change of Watch on February 9, 2008.

Arizona's own father and son Transpac Racing team , Al Lehman Jr. and Al
Lehman Sr. will present a fascinating slide show describing their
experiences in the 2007 race to Honolulu. They'll tell you how they found
the right boat, and how they prepared for the 44th Transpac Race. They'll
tell you how they packed in all their food, water, and supplies. They'll
tell you how they sailed and navigated 2,225 nautical miles, non-stop, day
and night. It's a fascinating story. Come to the Change of Watch, you'll be
glad you did!

The cost of the dinner and entertainment will be $35 per person. Special
thanks go to Jim and Marge Hill for offering the use of their club
facilities. Invitations will be sent. Plan on coming to the Change of Watch
- it is the only "Formal" dinner that the squadron presents each year. The
deadline for reservations is 23rd January. Please RSVP with checks made out
to "Phoenix Sail & Power Squadron" and mail to:
