Message-ID: <6eb02d840803101100m2eb18246ge9fa3715b8cada0b@mail.gmail.com> I wish to thank everyone for a fantastic job on the conference this last weekend. Our Co-Chairs Diane Ashton and Jeanine Quagliara put together a team that setup an event that has praises of a job well done coming from everywhere. The hospitality event lead by Norene Schloeman with Fred Drawert and others assisting, on Friday night, started the conference out and set a very high standard that was met by all the other events of the conference. The hotel and meeting rooms were well received. I am still receiving emails of congratulations on the Turf Paradise outing and the formal dinner of Saturday night dinner and raffle. The squadron would like to make a special "thank you" to two family members ( Angela and Amy Ashton) for a fantastic job on decorating gifts and rooms. A more complete listing of the happenings and efforts put forth by our members will be included in the next Bosnspipe. Laura provided the following points: ? The closure will extend from the exit ramps to the entrance ramps. I-17 will be closed for about one third of a mile to allow crews to demolish the old original bridge at the Carefree Highway. The freeway will start to narrow about a half a mile before the exit. Drivers should expect slow traffic well before that point. ? There are no easy alternate routes, and it?s difficult to predict how long drivers will experience delays. This will not be an easy weekend for drivers. We want to give drivers some helpful advice ahead of time: ? If you can avoid travel in the area this weekend, please do so. ? Try to get an early start if you must travel on I-17. ? Give yourself plenty of extra travel time (at least 90 minutes during peak hours) to avoid frustration with slow traffic. Interstate 17 Closure at Carefree Highway KTAR Radio (Jim Cross) asked for an interview about this weekend?s closure of I-17 at Carefree Highway (bridge demolition). Doug Nintzel will speak to Mr. Cross early Wednesday morning. ? There?s never a good weekend to close I-17. We?re warning drivers ahead of time. ? Tearing down the old bridge is necessary to complete the more modern, wider bridge to handle increased traffic ? Urging drivers to get an early start on Saturday or Sunday to avoid longer lines of traffic as each day advances ? At the Phoenix Boat Show booth on Saturday February 9th, I left a USPS navy windbreaker with yellow trim hanging on the rail of the booth near the backdrop. Most recently, at District Conference on March 8, I believe I left a navy and burgundy Reebok windbreaker in Auditorium 1 where the morning meeting was held. Jane made a reference that I'd lose my %*$ if it wasn't attached. I thought that was unkind, but, based on the above evidence, there may be some truth! One other item that Angela brought up was to use cups made from natural crops.
