Hi all you Pirates,
I want to encourage you to attend our Port Orchard rendezvous next weekend.
It is a joint rendezvous with the Bremerton Sail and Power Squadron but the
primary purpose is for us to perform some real important community service.
On Saturday we will be escorting the 10 mile Sound Rowers Race for human
powered boats. We did this last year and had a really a good time helping
them out.
The details of the rendezvous are on page 11 of the June edition of the
Pirates Log. It is simple. We have plenty of space reserved at Port
Orchard marina. We will have heavy hors d'oeuvres on Friday followed by an
organization meeting for the race logistics.
Right now we only have 4 boats signed up and we need at least 6 (8 would be
better). This is because the rowers really spread out over the course
because of widely varying speeds.
I know Sunday is Father's Day but don't let that hold you back. If you want
to come Friday night and head back home after the race on Saturday it would
be ok. Last year the race was over around 1200 and several boats left the
rendezvous at that point.
Please get back to me ASAP if you can make it. I know you would enjoy the
fellowship with the folks from Bremerton and gain a lot of satisfaction by
performing the safety escort service.
Either email me or give me a call if you can help out.
Thanks,
Jack Green
