Thanks to R/C Baldridge for clearing up the fact that USPS did not sanction
the use of USPS names for Chase Mortgage. Two questions come to mind:
1) Since Chase Mortgage is a "partner" with USPS, what can they do to get to
the bottom of this unwanted solicitation and what steps will they take to
discipline the perpetrator?
2) I believe that the USPS Directory has a copywrite logo and admonitions
against unauthorized use. What can LawCom do to protect our property. I know
that Consumers Reports takes very aggressive actions against anyone "using
their name in vain". Can we do something similar? Maybe a few law suites will
serve both to stop the abuse and pay for the publishing of the Directory.
