Well, here is exactly the kind of issue people would expect the USPS to be championing for boaters everywhere! Here is a chance to gain some visibility and respect for doing the right thing and give people a reason to join us again. What shall we do first? How about a letter writing campaign to all our local papers signed by commanders of our local squadrons and to major papers by the National Officers. This is an absolute minimum action. We need to look at ways to get our leaders on TV and radio talk shows to discuss this issue, wearing uniform and clearly displaying something USPS in the camera shot.
This list has been talking for some time to find a way to get us into the forefront on something people care about. The glove has been thrown to our feet, will we accept the challenge and defend the honor of our boating-related organization! (or keep discussing the need on our little read list?)
