[Psml] [Comphelp] 2007 Seamanship

Paul,

Seamanship has been our first attempt to embed Flash animations in a course
PowerPoint. The power of the animations speak for itself, but it does add a
level of complication. The animations are embedded within PowerPoint, so
there is nothing that you need to do except ensure that you have the Adobe
Flash (Shockwave) Player on your machine. There is no external Flash file.

You also need to run the file under PowerPoint, not the viewer.
Unfortunately, Microsoft chose to exclude support for any external program
within its latest viewer as a security measure.

If you are using the same PPT file on several computers and it works on the
others, it is not a corrupt file. The solution lies within the subject
computer and it must have the Flash Player installed, which can be
downloaded for free from Adobe.

We would appreciate your feedback as to the specifics for your computer and
problems, because that will help us determine fixes and workarounds for
others as well. We would like to continue to use these animations as they
help take our presentations to a whole new level.

Thanks,

Bob Sweet

ANEO

Lance,

Thanks for the info, but I've tried everything and still no animation. If
you don't have 2007 seamanship it's difficult to understand the problem. In
chapter three, slide 12 there is a play button if pressed will demo how a
boat is maneuvered away from the dock. When the play button is selected
slide 13 is displayed and there is no demo. Same situation with slides, 14,
25, 27, 28 and 31. Same problem in chapter four. I've even downloaded
Swiff Point Player and set up the laptop to play movies, still won't work.
Tried another members laptop and everything works fine on his.

I'm wondering how many others are experiencing the same problem with 2007
Seamanship?
