I could not agree with you more.  That is precisely the why we should  all 
work together to resolve these and any emerging problems  that may arise from 
this or any other proposal.  Changes are more than  often resisted and we should 
overcome the basic instinct to stick to the  established way that provides an 
apparent sense of security.  This,  however, is not to say that we have to 
get rid of everything or anything that is  in place.
