For DB2000-experts on this PSML list -
The following posting went to the DB2000 mail list on 7/8 - but did
not get on the air to date - so I am cross-posting it to you in the
hopes of getting some good information.
Best regards to the list - Frank Kemp Darien Sail & Power

================================

Greetings to the DB2000 list - may I have some advice please?

I have dug myself into a little bit of a hole - and would like some
advice as to how to get out.

For two years I have NOT deleted members from my DB2000 master, that is
on my home PC, who have not paid their dues.
I did this to keep them on my local mailing list - inviting them to
parties, events, etc ... in the hopes that if they showed up - the we'd
nail them for outstanding dues (gracefully of course) and that benefit
of reclaiming a member would far exceed the cost of postage incurred in
continuing their mailings.

In fact, it worked - I believe we picked up a couple of members as a
result of this practice.

Now, however, I have a problem in identifying the TRULY active, and
paid-up members - distinguishing them from what we will call 'deadbeats'
- so that I can publish an accurate Roster of Active (and fully paid)
members.

I know that I can rename my master - get a fresh copy from National -
and then manually compare who is in the fresh copy and who is in the
old copy. But that is a manual - eyeballs to screen - project. Not to
my liking. I would like to get some sort of machine-assisted listing
- because - after this project is over - I still may want to continue
this practice (i.e. deliberately keeping my deadbeats) with a smaller
group of possible renewers.

Is there a field in the DB2000 that I can use to select the members on
that basis? (or export to a CSV and then sort it around to accomplish
what I need to do).

Thanks in advance for your help -
