Richard,
I do not doubt your figures about USPS deflections to USCGAux. That
is not the issue here!
I am one that is not totally happy with USPS, particularly with
programs such as St. Paul Insurance which apparently now prohibits
Squadron members from towing a vessel which is disabled or in
distress (unless it is in intimate danger -- intimate danger not
defined). NOTE: No response on this list re. the Kingsway Power
Squadron (D/5) Commander's post on this issue?
What bothers me with regard to USPS is that we apparently must now
accept anyone into membership from USCGAux regardless of their
desirability and regardless of Squdron ethics.
For me, it begs the question: "If one is no longer permitted to be a
member of the USCG Auxiliary, for any reason, why should USPS be
obligated or required to accept such an undesirable person into
membership into our organzation???"
