I believe its time for our (all of our) administrators to take a step back  
and observe the situation again.
 
We are all aware of what hasn't been done, what should be done and what's  in 
the process to bridge the two.  However, the primary obstacle to any and  all 
success in marketing and advertising programs are the dollars to make them  
work.
 
For almost 90 years we have been en endeavoring to be self capitalized in  
our outside pursuits of awareness, membership and growth.  I'm sure  most of our 
members who have achieved  positions in business as high  level executives, 
CEO's and Board Members would politely acknowledge the  self capitalization 
effort as a noble practice, but would NEVER permit such  an activity in their own 
business interests.
 
Locally, we have floated the idea of sending out donation cards to  stimulate 
the treasury.  The verbal opposition to this universally accepted  non-profit 
practice, IT MAKES US LOOK LIKE WE NEED MONEY.
 
Outside fund raising (capitalization)  is, and has to be an equally  critical 
element to support any marketing and advertising efforts we dream  about 
creating or intend implementing.  With a revenue stream in place  the 
reimbursements of attendee's at meetings becomes a mute issue.
 
As long as were keep trying to pick the meat of our own bones, we are  
destined to fail.  Our ultimate demise through financial  starvation.
