The bottom line to all these messages is paying ones fair share of the tax 
bite.  In the Marina my boat is docked, close to 1/2 are registered or 
documented out of state and have been here for months.  They get fire and 
police protection and all that I get, but they are not paying tax either in 
SC or their home state.  I pay my tax, why can't they? If everyone paid 
their taxes maybe our tax rate would drop further.  If they feel the tax is 
too high, go to another state.  How many boat owners are under a state 
corporation (Delaware) mainly to beat their state tax and they'll brag about 
it?  A million dollar boat under a corporation in Delaware is probably 
paying $500 or less per year. Is that right or fair on us that do pay our 
fair share?
