You can do the seminar without the sounds. The important part of the seminar is discussion of the DSC features. Also let you students know the status of rescue 21 in your area. We advise our students that when they receive a distress DSC message on channel 16 they may need to forward the information the coast guard because the coast guard isn't set up to receive digital messages from boaters in our Area of Southern California until 2010 or 2011.
