The details of the program are online and on the Member Benefits page on the
left margin for "Chase VISA".

http://www.usps.org/national/admin_dept/membenefits.htm

http://www.firstusa.com/cgi-bin/webcgi/webserve.cgi?partner_dir_name=cac_us_
power_squadron&page=index

The url shows it as a First USA card, but the site is a CHASE site. The
card is definitely a Chase card (Chase may have bought First USA or
something).

The squadron gets $37.50, district $3.75 and national gets $33.75 for each
new approved applicant.

The commission on the card usage is 15 basis points on the sales made on the
card, which is 1.50 per $1000 in sales. The percentage distribution is the
squadron gets 50%, district gets 5% and national gets 45%.

I realize this may be a little confusing, but I am relaying what I am told
from R/C Ted Rankine, chair of Member Benefits committee. He is traveling
and unable to respond as needed.

Please read the web site and it explains the details (as well as some other
wonderful benefits). It does not mention the squadron/district/national
distribution though.

Yes, the web site is accurate and up-to-date. The committee has been
working on this recently so we know it is the latest information. Which is
why I waited to respond as I wanted to make sure you were told the most
accurate information.

Hope this helps!

Cardprogram ?

A few years ago, past treasure John Alter was working on a credit card
program that would give squadrons a fairly large amount - say $50 - when a
member signed up for an affinity credit card and the card was actually used.
We would like to use it to raise funds for our squadron.

I can't find reference to that program on USPS web site - I found this in
Operations Manual, p 3-19, dated 5/08:

"The USPS credit card program offers a
unique "Squadron" Visa card to members at no
annual charge. Interest rates and other charges are
regularly monitored to assure they are competitive.
USPS enjoys a negotiated royalty from charges
made on the card and splits these payments 50-50
with the purchaser's squadron, making this
particularly attractive to squadrons. Districts also
share in this financial revenue from this program.
The program is promoted by First USA Bank,
Wilmington, Delaware. First USA may be reached
at (800) 955-8010."

Does anyone know what the current program is?

Thanks!
