What experience is anyone having trying to get an appointment to obtain their TWIC from the Transporation security authority. I call the 800 number today and asked to make an appointment to get my card. The person who handled the call after I had waited on hold about 10 minutes said I should make the appointment by computer. I told him I was away from the computer and wanted to make my appointment by phone. His response was well "we need to know what problems you are having scheduling an appointment by computer. "Its very important" I repeated no less then 6 times that I wasn't at a computer and wished to make an appointment by phone. He then said he was going to transfer my call to another" specialist". I then waited another 10 minutes for the person to get on the phone. She immediately wanted to know my "User ID" . I gave her my name and offered to provide my "applicant ID" which was given to me last year. She was unable to find my name and had no interest in the applicant ID which I had been given by TSA last year. I ended up getting an appointment after considerable dialog about my user ID.
With this type of response to phone calls Its a wonder anyone is able to obtain the card being mandated by the Department of Homeland Security. I am just curious what others are experiencing with the process.
