[Psml] Past due Dues

Cdr Daybell,
How difficult is this?! 3 days of rattling and idle threats of loosing members only hurts your squadron. Somebody in your squadron simply needs to pull up the member's dues invoice online, pay it by credit card, give the member a "YOU", You Owe Us, or write it off, and all the horrors of DB2000, OD-2 form, and reminders will go away and the member can continue to be able to deal with DB2000 for your squadron with his active certificate number and proper password. The computer doesn't hold grudges. 30 days after your renewal date, you are dropped, period. You can save all the "Inactive" members you want on your local database. The latest Board of Directors meeting minutes quoted a figure of $10,000 for postage to send out dues renewal reminders. We don't need our dues money wasted doing that. Every squadron should review the "Dues Status Report" every month to know who is due for payment, overdue and non-renewal etc. You decide who does that. It's the squadron's job, not HQ to give reminders and provide dues help locally if necessary. The IT committee is simply implementing the By Laws and timetables of Membership. Nothing new.

Please re-read what I sent, the tools to manage your renewals are available through the membership department online. If you want them to send you notices, please contact them.
I am viewing this as stuff I can personally do something about and that is beyond my abilities.
Hopefully someone else can address that issue.

It would be far more appropriate to send the member and the commander a reminder about the dues in advance of removing the members name from the DB 2000 listing. An automated message could be set up as a warning or reminder so there is a chance for the squadron to take some action in advance of having the member's name removed. If you can automatically remove the person's name with the current system as has been done in our case you can certainly set up automatic reminder system from the database.
We received a second automatic message which said we couldn't keep of member as our DB 2000 person even if he renews his membership.
That will leaves the squadron without someone to deal with DB 2000.
