[Psml] Aluminum Hose Barb Question

Greetings!
     I am installing an aluminum fuel tank and want to use aluminum 
hose barbs.  The problem seems to be that the aluminum hose barb for 
3/8 inch ID hose is a "little big" for the hose.  My brass 3/8 inch 
hose barbs fit the fuel hose quite nicely but I would rather use the 
aluminum hose barbs.  Any suggestions as to how to get the 3/8 inch 
ID hose to slide on the aluminum barbs?
