If I recall correctly, there were MANY members who
became
highly ticked off at the treatment by CitiBank;
excessive
charges, failures to post payments, etc.

I have seen
nothing of an "official" credit card program in
quite a few
years.

The card may have sent some miniscule rewards to
USPS
and squadrons, but the exhorbitant interest charges quickly
negated
the desire of members to benefit USPS at great
personal cost to

Does anyone know the current details of USPS Credit
> Cardprogram
?
>
>
> A few years ago, past treasure John Alter was
working on a credit card
> program that would give squadrons a fairly
large amount - say $50 - when a
> member signed up for an affinity
credit card and the card was actually used.
> We would like to use it
to raise funds for our squadron.
>
> I can't find reference to
that program on USPS web site - I found this in
> Operations Manual, p
3-19, dated 5/08:
>
> "The USPS credit card program offers
a
> unique "Squadron" Visa card to members at no
> annual charge.
Interest rates and other charges are
> regularly monitored to assure
they are competitive.
> USPS enjoys a negotiated royalty from
charges
> made on the card and splits these payments 50-50
> with
the purchaser's squadron, making this
> particularly attractive to
squadrons. Districts also
> share in this financial revenue from this
program.
> The program is promoted by First USA Bank,
>
Wilmington, Delaware. First USA may be reached
> at (800)
955-8010."
>
> Does anyone know what the current program
is?
>
> Thanks!
>
> P/D/C Brian Logan, SN
>
