<p class=MsoPlainText>David,<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=MsoPlainText><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class=MsoPlainText>I agree that the primary mission of USPS is boating
safety through <o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=MsoPlainText>education. Unfortunately the theme is now
"America's Boating Club" <o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=MsoPlainText>and not an educational emphasis.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=MsoPlainText><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class=MsoPlainText>The debate regarding how to register the public is one of
members <o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=MsoPlainText>being FORCED to give up their individual right to privacy
in order to <o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=MsoPlainText>continue to serve their Squadrons in an educational
capacity. On <o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=MsoPlainText>this point, we evidently must agree to disagree!!!<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=MsoPlainText><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class=MsoPlainText>My business model is based on being a Marketing
Communications and <o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=MsoPlainText>Advertising Manager for three divisions of a Fortune 200
company for <o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=MsoPlainText>18-1/2 years. I am also a Life Member of USPS and have
served as the <o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=MsoPlainText>S/Ch/Mem/Com for 6 + years over two terms.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=MsoPlainText><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class=MsoPlainText>In my Squadron, we teach our public boating courses in
community <o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=MsoPlainText>Adult Evening Schools, so the schools do most of the
promotion via <o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=MsoPlainText>brochures to the public residing in our community. There
is little <o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=MsoPlainText>or no need for us to erect bill boards or run
advertisements in <o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=MsoPlainText>newspapers with our eMail addresses and home phone numbers.
We don't <o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=MsoPlainText>think that we should be mandated or Forced to compromise
our member's <o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=MsoPlainText>privacy for that purpose. In that regard, we will also
have to agree <o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=MsoPlainText>to disagree.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=MsoPlainText><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class=MsoPlainText>We have given freely of our time and talents to educate
the public by <o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=MsoPlainText>teaching in our public boating courses as well as our
member's only <o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=MsoPlainText>courses and seminars. I am a Life Member of USPS, having
earned more <o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=MsoPlainText>than 30 Merit Marks!!!<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=MsoPlainText><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class=MsoPlainText>Yes, I said we want a few good members - by that
statement, I meant <o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=MsoPlainText>that we place more value on active, involved members
versus those who <o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=MsoPlainText>only pay dues in order to gain membership discounts and
other benefits.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=MsoPlainText><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class=MsoPlainText>Yours in safe boating,<o:p></o:p></p>
