Hello All,
You should have heard from the meetings folks about providing
descriptions of you open meetings.
The idea is to provide, for every open meeting, a description of the
topic covered and what the attendee might expect to learn. This would
encourage attendance at the meeting in general and allow attendees to
plan their schedule by choosing the seminars that most interest them. We
will publish the full annotated agenda on the web and in the call to the
meeting and a topic only agenda in THE ENSIGN.
It might look like this (I’m making this up there is no electronic
submission):
Information Technology 1140-1400
DB2000 and Electronic Merit Mark Submission
Come learn about the latest enhancements to the DB2000 merit mark
function including electronic submission. Attendees will learn how to
download the latest updates, find online tutorials, collaborate with
fellow members, and submit electronically. Live demonstrations and a
question and answer period will provide attendees with a greater
understanding of this valuable product.
The above would be in the call and on the web. THE ENSIGN would publish
a link to the web site and:
Information Technology
DB2000 and Electronic Merit Mark Submission
Now, here’s the trick: we need this information from your committees.
The deadline for the July/August edition of THE ENSIGN is 1 May. We can
accept later updates to the text description, but the title has to be in
by 1 May. If you're like me, you're used to deciding on your open
meeting topics on the way to the airport so this will require a change
in process. It should spark more interest in the meetings, however, and
new issues can always be added at the last minute.
Please give it some thought and reply to the meetings folks quickly.
Also, please copy Dave and me on your response.
Thanks and Regards,
Robert
