I'm giving the Selling USPS Courses from 0900 to 1200. I'll need 15-20
minutes for set up so I'll have to leave no later than 0835-40.

Jean,

I'll do my best to be there by 0830. I do not plan on using PowerPoint
and should only take 10 minutes.

Committee Chairs,

Since you will all be preparing for KC, please send me a brief update on
what your committees have been doing since Anaheim. Since I have to have
my report ready for the CD, I'll need your input by 11 August.

I would like to have all committee chairs sign on to SailAngle. Thus
far, ITCOM, ENSIGN, FECOM, and Jean are signed up.

I would like to hold the department leadership meeting on Thursday from
1100 - 1200 in Rm 3622 (Secty/Treas parlor).

Cheers,

Dave

The Open SecDept Meeting will be Friday, 11 September from 0800-1230 in
Chicago A-B-C.

After the SecDept Luncheon, the ITCOM Open Meeting will run from
1400-1500, in the same room,

followed by,

the DB2000 Seminar.

John - shall I do similar flyers for the DB2000 seminar?

As usual, I would like to introduce the department at the beginning. We
will have a podium with a mike, head table, screen, & projector as at
past meetings. I would appreciate it if department chairs would sit at
the head table, and Stf/C's sit in the front row as you will be
acknowledged. If any Stf/C's do not plan to attend (or R/C's I guess as
well...), could you please let me know?

Dave - you have the usual OCom breakfast from 0730-0830. I assume you
would like to say something in the SecDept meeting...at what time would
you like to be on the schedule and for how long and will you have any
PowerPoint?

The Ensign & PubCom folks: I plan to present the CommCom plans so you
will not need to cover that in your remarks.

FYI all - I've attached the recommendations for CommCom that were
approved by the BOD. The broadcast recommendations are already
essentially implemented; the mail lists are almost ready for public
release. The actual structure will go into effect at the 2010 Annual
Meeting in February.

So - I need to hear from each committee regarding this meeting:

    Historian

    ITCom

    Ship's Store

    The Ensign

    Publications

    Ops Manual

    F&E

How much time do you each need?

Any special presentations?

Who will be using PowerPoint?

We have tables up front for any handouts, and I'd be glad to make copies
of anything and ship for you. I'll need the files no later than 1
September please. It is always a good idea to utilize many
communication methods, so take advantage of this offer for any
information you want out there - don't just depend on the website and
the meeting CD!

As soon as I hear back from everyone I will work out the schedule and
send it. Let's make a deadline for response since that will motivate
everyone...

14 August - Friday

thanks,

Jean
