JIMMY BUFFET'S
PARROTHEAD GETAWAY
AT CALADESI ISLAND
24-26 APRIL 2009
It's that time again! Time to break out your Jimmy Buffet T-shirt and your parrothead hat - we are going to Caladesi Island. This is a boating event that you will not want to miss. The Chamberlains and Eibachs are hard at work making plans for a great weekend. We presently have eleven boats signed up plus 13 coming by Iron Dinghy.
Arriving by Boat:
Heading north on the ICW, north of Clearwater and just south of the Dunedin Causeway Bridge turn to port at Channel Marker 14. A short way down on your left look for a sign to Caladesi. Take a 212 degree heading from the sign for 1 mile to the park entrance sign. Once in the Caladesi Channel call MISS EVIE on VHF channel 71 for slip assignment.
Friday:
Cocktail party on dock: Bring an hors d'oeuvre to share
Dinner: Potluck dinner. Bring a dish to share.
Saturday:
We will have lunch at the southern pavilion at 1330. A fee of $5.00 will be charged (per person) for Jimmy Buffet cheeseburgers in Paradise, potato salad, coleslaw, chips and drinks. You can't beat that!
1430 - Shell hunt on the beach and Trivia Contest
Dinner: May use pavilion to grill meat.
Iron Dinghy:
The ferry to Caladesi runs every half hour from 1000 to 1630. You may stay only 4 hours. If you take the 1230 ferry you will have time to join us for lunch, beach time, games and catch the 1630 ferry back.
Entrance to park is $5.00 per car, up to 8 people so it is best to car pool. The ferry ride cost $10.00 pp and if you saved your coupon, it will only cost you $8.00.
Driving Directions:
Take US19 or 19A North to Curlew Road. Turn West on Curlew and follow the road across Dunedin Causeway Bridge. Stay on road to park entrance.
Reservations for lunch are a must! We will need a head count so we know how much food to buy. Call Bill or Evie Eibach at 727-525-0968 or email weibach at tampabay.rr.com to make your reservations.
We hope to see everyone there!
