Since the beginning of the year an effort has been made to bring some of the
non compliant web sites into compliance. If a web site is found to be non
compliant a block is placed on the squadron record and the link between the
USPS web site listing of squadron and district web site is removed. To
determine if your website is so affected visit the listing of squadrons and
determine if you have an active link to your website from the USPS website list of
squadrons.

A couple of other items come to mind, that need your attention.

Is the trademark symbol displayed after each listing of
"the United States Power Squadrons®". Many of the web sites I visit are
missing this trademark symbol. It is a requirement of all web sites.

This year the matter of up to date information being displayed on web sites
will be accentuated. For those of you with a VSC decal on your VSC page,
make sure you have the 2005 decal. The graphics are available on the Vessel
Safety Check Web site.

If you receive this message are you the webmaster for your squadron web
site. In many cases the webmaster has changed but has not subscribed to this
mail list. Please advise your new webmasters if this is the case that they need
to subscribe.

The new rules for the 2005 web awards are near completion. You will be
advised with a mailing to this mail list.

Hope you all have a safe and fun boating year.
