Dana,
I find it interesting that you chose to broadcast your question and
condemnation to both the VE list and to PSML without ever asking the
responsible people if it might be a simple oversight, which it is. Had you
either contacted me or headquarters the oversight would have been rectified.
Thank you for bringing this to our attention. It will be fixed as soon as it
can be coordinated with the headquarters systems folks next week as they
have gone home for the weekend.

I note with interest that, as of just moments ago, one is still prevented
from entering an Apprentice/Sea Scout certificate number (e.g., APnnnn) into
the online reporting form.
This is obviously nothing more than the form designer's "entry format check"
embedded into the form itself.
The resulting screamer response is much too quick to be anything else.
I've only been waiting for at least five months, now.
I find it morally difficult to encourage young people to become VEs when I
know I will be unable to report their efforts.
I guess USPS just doesn't want young people involved.
Oh well. At this rate, it'll all be over soon.
