Hello again Everyone,

I have again received a number of questions about what to do with duplicates
or un-certified peoples records. Therefore I am sending you all the
following to help with that process. This also gives you the link to the
full policy for our VSC program.

We show the duplicates so people can check to see what their error was.
Sometimes it is just a matter of having input the wrong vessel number rather
than the correct one. This way they can input the correct one and then have
us delete the old one. If in fact it is just a duplicate then they just need
to have them deleted. You can send an email to Lena Padro
(padrol at hq.usps.org <blocked::mailto:padrol at hq.usps.org> ) at headquarters
giving her the information for the ones to delete.

The ones done by folks that were not certified at the time need to be
handled differently. Normally it is simply a matter of someone at the
squadron level not submitting the proper certification/re-certification in
accordance with the proper procedure, which is to submit a VSC-2 Certified
Vessel Examiners Form to headquarters for the new or re-certified examiner.
The form is available, including instructions for submittal, on the VSC web
site Forms and Tools page located at
<http://www.usps.org/national/vsc/formtool.html>
http://www.usps.org/national/vsc/formtool.html. It is the 4th bullet down in
the center body of the page. When corrections are recorded for people who
were not certified, those records will automatically move to the VSC
database.

 The full VSC Policy is located on the USPS & USCG Policies page at
<http://www.usps.org/national/vsc/policies.html>
http://www.usps.org/national/vsc/policies.html listed as
<http://www.usps.org/national/vsc/policies_files/policy.htm> USPS VSC
Policies and Procedures in the main body of the page. If you have any
problems with this or if you need any other assistance please feel free to
contact me again. Good luck.

Cheers,

Stf/C Bob Miller
