Yes, Sport and Utility Boats (SUBs) are eligible for a VSC and decal award.

The link to "How to Perform a VSC on a SUBS in the section "Conducting a
Vessel Safety Check" in the USPS web site is broken.

 

I did find a good description of how to perform these checks in the Coast
Guard Auxiliary site.  http://www.ratlines.com/VSCforSUBs.htm

 

Do these SUBS inspections qualify as a Vessel Inspection for reporting
purposes ?  If so, will the on-line VSC reporting form accept an entry
without a state registration number ?  Otherwise, how does it get reported ?
