I agree with your comments. Bill Miller maintains the logos on a web site:
http://www.usps.org/lc/d31/USPSlogos.htm where there is a pretty good
selection. I have asked if anyone could provide them in .gif format with a
transparent background. That way they can be pasted on any page and not
have a white rectangle around them. He says that it would have to be done
on a volunteer basis, as there is no budget for that. Maybe Im the only
one with a web site that doesnt have white pages.

Subject: [Webmaster_forum] Web Logos
Just reviewed the website evaluations. I noticed that there were many
organizations that did not receive any credit for the America's Boating
Club(r) logo. I'm frankly not sure even what the America's Boating Club(r)
logo looks like.
I know this has been discussed here before, but where are the official logos
found? I never saw an answer to that question. Can the graphics that are
supposed to be on our web pages be downloaded from someplace? Most of us
have lifted graphics, often of dubious quality, from various sources, but it
sure seems reasonable to have a single place where we can get logos in
several sizes in .gif or .jpg formats so we all have consistent logos.
