Welcome!  We are the Seattle chapter of the United States Power Squadrons, the largest boating organization in the US.  We are a volunteer organization to promote skillful boating fun through public and member education.

Our members are both sailors and power boaters, from people yet to own their first boat, to trailerable sizes, to long distance cruisers and liveaboards.  Meetings and classes are usually in the Lake Union area of Seattle though people attend from around Puget Sound.

ABC CourseClasses:  We offer introductory boating classes to new boaters throughout the year.  Everyone is welcome including youngsters.  These classes meet Washington Boaters License Card (required age 59 or below on 1/2013) and insurance requirements for primary boater education.

The introductory class may be all you need for now, but for many it stimulates a desire to learn more.  Or perhaps you are buying a larger boat.  Your next step is to become a member which qualifies you for our Advanced Classes.

baoting eventsActivities:  People join for the classes, then discover to their delight they have become part of a boating family of like-minded people who meet for relaxed social gatherings like a dinner speaker or weekend rendezvous (boat optional).

You also have an opportunity for public service in the educational program, cooperative charting or vessel safety checks.  See VSC to have a safety check on your boat -- it's free and no risk.

We have a sister in Canada too, the Burnaby Squadron
