Classes for Spring 2024
America's Boating Course - Basic Boating Classes -
Learn the fundamentals of safe boat handling, operation and safety in one comprehensive course. We offer 3 ABC classes this Spring.
Saturdays, beginning January 27, 2024 - 10:00 a.m to 2:00 p.m.Location is Vermilion Power Boats, 5054 Liberty Avenue, Vermilion OH
Two 4-hour classes and a third Saturday for a review and exam..
Mondays, beginning February 5, 2024 - 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm
Lorain County Joint Vocational School, St Rt 58 and US Route 20, south of Oberlin
Four 2 hours classes .and an exam night
Saturdays, beginning March 23, 2024 - 10:00 am to 2:00 pm
Beaver Park Yacht Club in Beaver Park Marina (North), 5968 W Erie Ave,. Lorain, OH
Two 4-hour classes and a third Saturday for a review and exam
Our classes also include the Ohio course and exam. Cost for materials is $55

Advanced Courses
Five Advanced Grade courses are offered by America's Boating Club. They are designed to be taken in sequence because each builds on skills taught in the previous course. They are Boat Handling (Seamanship), Marine Navigation (Piloting), Advanced Piloting, Junior Navigation, and Navigation.Boat Handling Course

Elective Courses
Eight Elective Courses are offered by the Power Squadrons. They are Engine Maintenance, Marine Electrical Systems, Marine Communication Systems, Marine Navigation Systems, Weather, Cruising and Cruise Planning, Sail, and Instructor Development. 
We welcome requests for any of these classes.
