Squadron Burgee Heraldry:
The DuPage pennant incorporates the red field and vertical blue and white stripes of the USPS Ensign, but in a triangular shape. The white symbol on the red field represents three electrons orbiting the nucleus of an atom. This symbol was chosen in recognition of the research in nuclear energy and particle physics being conducted at Fermi Labs and Argonne National Laboratories, both of which are based in DuPage County.
