Squadron Burgee Heraldry: The alternate blue and white stripes were selected to distinguish it as a United States Power Squadron affiliate, same as the USPS Ensign. The large shamrock (green) within the white field was selected for simplicity and easy recognition, but more particularly due to the fact that Dundalk, Maryland was named after Dundalk, Ireland.
