Squadron Burgee Heraldry:
The pennant contains a red field area. The remaining area of the pennant, comprises 8 blue and white stripes which represent the USPS ensign. Superimposed on the red field, centered on the field and closely adjacent to the hoist, is a white circle one inch wide and 8" in diameter. The center of the circle is comprised of the red field. Superimposed on the entire circle is a series of eight cardinal compass points colored in black. Four of these points, representing the four main compass points, extend across the white colored 1" outer ring. Four sub-cardinal points in black are contained within the red area of the circle. The compass points represent boating and USPS boating education.
