The figure is that of Chief Sealth, after whom Seattle was named. His raised arm is a gesture of friendliness and sincerity, which he exemplified during the early days of Seattle, which exists today in Seattle Squadron.
The "S" denoting Seattle Squadron, has been cleverly worked in keeping with the spirit of the design.
