Squadron Burgee Heraldry:
The field of our burgee is fire engine red. The color apparently has no special significance. Superimposed on the red field about 14" along the fly is a large capital "S" colored royal blue, varying in width from two to three inches and extending vertically from top fly to bottom fly. The "S" represents Spokane. Fitted into the bottom section of the "S" and between it and the hoist is a yellow ball or circle outlined in red with 8 rays. This yellow ball represents the many days of hot bright sunlight typical of the eastern Washington plains. The yellow sun also represents the "Inland Empire". composed of northern Montana, northern Idaho and eastern Washington.
