Directions to Shelter #1 or #2 at Ebenezer Point on Jordan Lake

This page assists in providing directions to Jordan Lake Shelter #1 or #2 at Ebenezer Point. This State park is also known as the Ebenezer Church Recreation Area and is maintained by the NC Division of Parks & Recreation.  Durham Sail & Power Squadron generally tries to hold events at Shelter #1, but on occasion we switch to Shelter #2.  So, please note which Shelter the event is being held at.

Also note that there is an entrance fee to the Recreation Area which you will have to pay at the entrance to the park.  It is currently $6/car.  But you should check the current fee schedule to be sure.  And finally, since this is a State managed facility, alcohol is not permitted.  If caught, you will lose it.  Please review the Rules and Regulations while in the park.

First you must find your way to Wilsonville, NC.  This is a traffic light on US 64.    At this intersection, you will see the Wilsonville General Store, Mich Gardens, and Lake Mart Mobile gas station on three of the four corners.

If you are coming from Raleigh or Durham, it is 2.9 miles from the traffic light at the intersection of NC 751 and US 64, or 7.2 miles from the intersection of NC 55 and US 64.  At the Wilsonville intersection turn left onto Beaver Creek Rd at the traffic light.

If you are coming from Pittsboro on US 64, the intersection is 1 mile from the eastern shore of Jordan Lake.  Turn right onto Beaver Creek Rd at the traffic light.

Finally, you can also get here by coming down Mt Carmel Church Rd/Farrington Point Rd, from Chapel Hill.  Take US 15-501 S towards Pittsboro out of Chapel Hill, and turn right onto Mt Carmel Church Rd just south of  US 15-501/US 54 bypass on the south side of Chapel Hill.   Mt Carmel Church Rd will turn into Farrington Point Rd.  Once you are on Farrington Point Rd, continue following this road until you come to US 64.  This is Wilsonville, NC.  Cross over US 64 and you are on Beaver Creek Rd.

Once you get to this intersection on US 64, you should follow the directions to Ebenezer Church Recreation Area shown on the NC Division of Parks & Recreation area. Please note the fee schedule for entering the park (Click on link that says "Entrance" to see the fees). Also note the Rules and Regulations while in the park.

To get to Ebenezer Church Recreation Area, turn south onto Beaver Creek Rd as described above.  The park entrance is approximately 2.2 miles on the right.

Once you have entered the park, Picnic Shelter #1 is all the way at the end of the road which is about 0.5 miles from the entrance booth. The right turn to Picnic Shelter #2 is about 0.3 miles down the road from the entrance booth.  Both shelters are are in the in the upper left corner and the boat ramps are at the bottom of this Ebenezer Church Recreation Area map shown below:
