Active membership in Durham Sail and Power Squadron, as well as the United States Power Squadron®, is open to those 18 years of age and older, who have passed the USPS Boating Course or Boat Smart examination (or equivalent), who are able and willing to contribute time, energy, and skills to the obectives of DSPS, and payment of all applicable dues.  Boat ownership is not required to join.
