There are a few planned squadron social event throughout the year which include "theme" dinners followed by some fun games like bingo or horse racing, wine tasting, our Christmas dance, and the annual Commander's Open House. A favorite with the members is the annual Shrimp Boil.
In January, we hold our Change of Watch in which the new officers are installed into office. This is also our awards night.
Both District and National present our squadron with various special functions to which all members are invited. District 22 has planned and invited squadron members to take 7 to 10 day trips to places like Bermuda and through the Panama Canal on well-known commercial cruise lines at special rates. There is also a District C&R each year in the Fall. During the District C&R, there are theme parties, nautical and non-nautical games, and various prizes.
These meetings and C&Rs provide social activities that allow for meeting new people and making friends across the country.
