It is our Membership Season at this time and our Treasurer, Roger Johns, S, has sent out all the membership renewal notices. Our squadron currently has about 76 members whose dues are extremely important to the operation of the squadron and the payments of our operational expenses. Without your dues, we cease to exist .At last count this week about 18 members have not returned their renewal statements. Will you please mail in your membership dues quickly as the last day before delinquency is June 21,2005.

The Milford Oyster Festival is scheduled for 20 August this year and we, Milford Power and Sail Squadron, are considering setting up a booth as a "show of colors". We will hand out literature, display some nautical gear, answer questions, and solicit membership to those who qualify. We would appreciate some help to man the booth, so if you would like to support our effort give Roger Johns a call and let him know. (882-9994) The festival is only from 10AM to 6PM so if you have an hour or more spare time during the day we would appreciate your assistance.

Wishing you all a very happy and safe vacation this summer and please remember, Safe Boating is our middle name.

Bob Reeves, Cdr.

Education Report

We are now in a holding pattern in the Education area. All our classes have given their final exams and have closed for the summer. At present I am working on a schedule for classes for the Fall starting in September.

The JN class was not completed. It was decided by the class that we would continue in Sept. with a review of all the course material in preparation for the final exam. Also that the requirement for sights would be gathered during the summer and submitted to the instructor for review in the August/Sept. time frame before submittal to National for Grading.

We will definitely be giving a Seamanship Course starting in September. If you care to take this course please give us a call now to register.

The Advanced Piloting course will begin in December (after JN is completed). I assume that all the last Piloting class will want to continue.

It is also our intention to start the Marine Electronics Course in September.. This is a very important course as it brings in all the latest on GPS, Loran, Radar, and Electronic Charting.

Our dates on the above courses are not firm at this time so if you have some other suggestions please make us aware and we may be able to change the schedule to suit your plans

Now just enjoy the season and apply the education that you've gained thru the past year.

Happy Sailing.
