OKCSPS is one of over 250 Squadrons comprised of over 20,000 members of the USPS® (United States Power Squadrons), whose common goal is to Promote Boating Safety through Education. We are ONE of Eleven Power Squadrons in District 21 (D-21).

We are a family of Sail and Power boaters. We want more knowledge about being safe while having fun on our boats. As a member of The OKCSPS, that want is satisfied.

We hold Monthly OPEN Members' Meetings, the 1st (normally) Monday of each month, to take care of Squadron business. This is where we coordinate all of our efforts (e.g., plans for our "do it from a boat" fun stuff that occurs during our boating season).

Our Bridge "Calls the Shots" (i.e., Defines scope of Operations; Chairs monthly Members meetings; Communicates to Members via the monthly newsletter and website; And whatever ... to make a volunteer organization GO). Member Involvment provides support for our functions - loosly grouped into the following catagories:

Membership: New Members and Member Involvement.

Education: America's Boating Course® , Public Course, BoatSmart® Course, Member Continuing.

Civic: Community Projects.

Social: Rendezvous, Local Activities. Lake and river Rendezvous; Clam Chowder, Pot Luck and Holiday Theme Parties; Hosts/Visits other squadrons' District (21) activities; Annual Change of Watch Dinner."

Communications: Public Relations, Dinghy Painter, the Web, Ensign Liason, Port Captain, Ham Radio, Member Notification.
