Annual Dinner and Elections Meeting

The Annual Meeting is held for the purpose of electing the Bridge Officers, Executive Committee Members, and members of other elected Committees. At this meeting the slate of nominees prepared by the Nominating Committee is formally presented to the membership, having previously been announced by publication in the “Full & By” or by first class mail delivery from the Squadron Secretary one month earlier.  Thus, all members have had prior disclosure as to the Nominating Committee results.  Alternate nominations prepared in accordance with Squadron By-Laws may be presented at this meeting in which event a secret ballot will be prepared for the election.  No “surprise” nominations will be entertained at this meeting.  All nominees, whether selected by the Nominating Committee or by the alternate method must express their willingness to serve as no member may be elected to office counter to their expressed wishes.  In addition, nominations for membership to the Nominating Committee will be accepted from the general membership at this meeting with no prior conditions imposed other than verbal agreement by the nominees to serve.  Three members will be nominated and elected in one year, and two nominees will be elected in alternate years, each member serving for two consecutive years.   This membership meeting is generally held in conjunction with a dinner at a local restaurant although attendance at dinner is not a requirement for participating in the membership meeting or election.  The dinner, however, provides an opportunity for socializing, meeting, and greeting other members and spouses to enhance your enjoyment of Squadron membership.  Dress is normal dinner clothes, although some members may wear uniforms reflecting their current Office or Past Office.
